BEGINNINGS
In 2015, Tom transitions from performing into creative direction, joining the Secret Cinema creative team.

Alongside an exceptional group of collaborators, he directs some of the company's most acclaimed productions, including Dr. Strangelove, 28 Days Later, Blade Runner and Romeo & Juliet. In 2019, Elena, a performer and theatre maker, becomes Tom's associate on Casino Royale, which premieres in London before transferring to Shanghai.

In 2021, Tom goes on to direct the global launch of Netflix's Arcane in Los Angeles, further cementing his reputation for creating ambitious, large-scale immersive experiences.
The octopus is born
In 2022, Tom begins creating and directing independent productions, including Dr Who: Time Fracture and Peaky Blinders: The Rise. The success of these shows gives Tom the tenacity to leave Secret Cinema and establish Immersive Octopus.

He brings Elena into the team as a Creative Director, and together the pair lead on luxury events across the world.
The octopus grows
In 2023, Ollie joins the team as Creative Director and Head of New Business. He and Tom had previously collaborated as creators and performers on The Great Gatsby in 2016, and his creative flair and personable approach helps to develop a new tentacle within the company - Theatrical Adventures.

In 2024, Tom and Elena create and direct The Paddington Bear Experience which opens in London’s County Hall to widespread acclaim, and it continues to delight guests every day.
The octopus evolves
As the company continues to grow, the team’s need for a producer becomes increasingly clear. The stars align, having previously worked with Charlie as a Senior Producer at Secret Cinema, Tom has the opportunity to bring her into the team as Executive Producer, and subsequently Managing Director. She brings with her years of experience and expertise in delivering large scale events and productions.

The company continues to flourish, delivering luxury events and theatrical adventures, while also securing a number of creative consultancy contracts with Disney, which sees the team spending time in LA working alongside The Imagineers on top secret projects.
The octopus is complete
In 2025, the search for a Senior Producer leads Tom to Joe in Edinburgh, where he was working as Operations Manager at Underbelly. Joe’s experience across producing, immersive game design, operations and general management brings an additional layer of expertise to Immersive Octopus’s growing skill set. Throughout the year the Theatrical Adventures continue to grow, alongside luxury parties, awards ceremonies, immersive premieres and hotel takeovers. Toward the end of 2025, Charlie goes on maternity leave, and Stephen steps in, bringing decades of experience leading projects and organisations across the worlds of immersive, theatre, gaming, circus and festivals.
Now and into the future
The team had a very busy winter, delivering a theatrical Christmas experience in the UK as well as two further Christmas experiences in the Arctic Circle.

2026 has also got off to a strong start with trips to Egypt, Dubai, Los Angeles, Bahrain, Utah, Florence and counting…Big plans afoot.
